NIGERIA MY FATHERLAND (Part 3)

Since three days I have been discussing a topic which today I come with the final part of the write-up which also will make it 8days to my Birthday which is 13th December, 2015! Yesterday, I discussed, outlined and buttressed some cogent points but if you missed part 1 and part 2, kindly visit www.donzikkmayowa.blogspot.com to get the re-cap.

Today, I want to discuss the final saga of it titled

NIGERIA MY FATHERLAND (Part 3)

I used to wonder when Nigerians say Its calls for celebration because today, our nation, Nigeria is a year older. I mean, usually on October 1st, 1960, Nigeria
gained independence from the hands of her colonial master, Great Britain.

Although, I was not born then, my parents recounted the euphoria of the colorful occasion to me as a child. My father spoke of how important the day was for them back then and that many Nigerians took to the streets to celebrate the day. The independence meant freedom, prosperity, development, and a sense of identity and oneness for a people of diverse culture and tongues at that time. But today, even right now as you are reading, are we truly free, independent, prosperous, developed? It's a pity we can't differentiate between been in bondage and been free in Nigeria. Just imagine, an average Nigeria can hardly bears this sentiment or opinion about the essence of this day.

Like I was told, imagine some of the patriots of our independence namely Herbert Macaulay, Dr. Nnamdi Azikwe, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, H O Davies, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa and many others longed for this day by fighting vigorously, SELFLESSLY to make sure the independence is gained and here we'll be chanting the Nigeria National Anthem saying:

"...the labor of our heroes past

shall never be in vain."

I weep!

I personally, a citizen, don't know about you, I ponder on these words and wonder if our patriots will be happy with the events that has befallen their labor. My readers, do you ponder?

Back then, our patriots lived normal lives among us without fear, they did not own Switzerland bank accounts nor was there any sharing of 'Ghana must go bags', and our political arena was not for the money bags but it was geared on principles and ideologies. These men stood for what they believed and gave their service to see that we have a nation called Nigeria.

If a patriot like Chief Obafemi Awolowo who gave free education in the South-west were to be alive, will he have watched that the universities across our nation be shut since during the strike that lasted for over 10 months or will he be happy with the increaments in school fees and other unnecessary fees? Will the patriots be happy at the pace of our development and commitment to live together as a nation?

Since 1960, we have experienced 5 successful coups, 2 abortive coups, an attempted coup, and 3 alleged coups. These coup d'états reflect the distrust that exist within us and the imbalance in our society which have hampered our growth and development whether under the military or civilian administration. Our fledgling democracy is bedeviled by corruption, assassination, kidnapping, ethnicity and socio-political unrest. The unsettled political arena is threatening our unity and the struggle to keep us together as a nation is increasing by the day. The responsibility to preserve this day is that of Mr. President and every Nigerian.

Hear me readers, open your eyes, be wise, don't be fooled by the so called CHANGE. There can only be change between two or more things, change can either be positive or negative change. Which one is happening now? Can you answer that? Imagine, Politics has becomes family/lineage inheritance. Instances, look at Kogi state election, what can you say about it? Look at the so called Jagaban, imposing candidate on the people by all means, I can't explain this acts, can some help me? It's a pity!

Someone, although old and above 70years of age told me some days ago while discussing with him about Nigeria, he said Nigeria cannot be cured rather will become worse. I asked why? He said we are in the Last Days and Bible has prophesied it. I was moved with compassion. My dear brothers and sisters if Nigeria can't be cure, it can be maintained so as not become worst, that's why I want to ask you;

What are you doing to make Nigeria a better place?

Positive?

Or

Negative?

Which one?

In conclusion, before I pen off, do you know we have an HERO that surpasses any hero? He is the King of kings, the Lord of lords, He is the saviour of the world. No one comes to God except through him.... His name is JESUS! As we say, "the labour of our heros, shall never be in vain" Do you know that Jesus also labour for you and for me? He died for you and for me so that we will escape hell and its judgment, do you want Jesus blood shed on the cross to be in vain? Why don't you come to him today, accept him ad you Lord and Savior, then you carry out his commission, "go ye into all the world and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"

To end this article, I want to say, read this Rauf Kazeem Isaac Anthem

Arise O, Children of God,
Lord Jesus calls obey,
To serve our Lord Jesus,
With Love and Strength and Faith,
The labour of our Lord Jesus,
Shall never be in vain,
To serve with Love and Might,
To bring sinner to Christ
With Love and Unity

I pledge to Jesus, my Saviour,
To be faithful, loyal and honest,
To serve him with all my heart,
To defend Christ all over the world,
So help me God.

O Readers, what are you waiting for?

pray with the Second stanza of the Nigerian anthem that
" O God of creation....
